He intended to cheer on the little ones, but Br. Dan Hall, C.Ss.R., got swept up in the enthusiasm and joined in the Positive Addiction Run at St. Gerard School in Lima, OH.
The pre-kindergarten through fourth grade students clearly relished the opportunity to surpass him in the one-mile race, which kicked off the annual Positive Addiction Run.
The Positive Addiction Run program was created 38 years ago at nearby St. Charles School to help promote positive addictions and activities in an effort to keep children from turning to drugs and alcohol.
The next day, middle schoolers and high school students from four Catholic schools came together to compete in one-mile and three-mile races.
“We love when Br. Dan and the priests come out and support our students!” said Paige Fay, a parent and co-leader of the St. Gerard high school youth group.
