Hundreds of parishioners participated in an elaborate Corpus Christi procession at Holy Ghost Church in Houston last Sunday. Fr. Bill Bueche, pastor, led a large crowd through the church grounds to sing and pray at altars created by many parish groups – youth, young adults, charismatic, English-speaking and Spanish-speaking, among others – expressing their hope and unity in faith.
“We came out of the church to witness to the world our belief that Our Lord is present with us under the appearance of bread, and invite others to join us in our faith. As we processed from one altar to the next, we portrayed the People of God marching to the kingdom with Jesus. Jesus is always with us,” explained Fr. John Gouger.
With the easing of pandemic restrictions in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Holy Ghost currently offers two English Masses and three Spanish Masses during the weekends. In addition to Fr. Bill, confreres currently stationed in Houston include: Fr. Binh Ta, superior; Fr. Peter Voelker; Fr. Andy Meiners; Fr. John Gouger; Br. Clement Furno; Fr. Len Broniak, Archdiocesan Deaf Ministry; and Fr. Chuong Cao, Co-Vocation Director for Denver Province.
