After a two-year hiatus from the COVID-19 pandemic, we were finally able to offer a public novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help in our chapel. The community had discussed the possibility of celebrating a public novena. The Sisters said, YES. We spoke with our Lay Associates. They said, YES. And so we began.
We are grateful that our Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski of St. Louis was able to celebrate Mass the first night. It was our first occasion to meet him since his installation as Archbishop of St. Louis two years ago.
Our Lay Associates and the Knights of Columbus were a great support in many ways. Each evening, one of our Associates led the rosary, followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass. Redemptorists from St. Clement’s and St. Alphonsus “Rock” Church showed themselves to be great preachers and devotees of the Blessed Mother.
A friend of ours, who is permanent deacons, served Mass during the novena. As a matter of fact, he was ordained by Archbishop Rozanski.
The entrance procession, scripture readings and recessional procession were all taken care of by the Associates.
On Sunday, June 26, we attended the feast day Mass held at St. Alphonsus Rock Church with Bishop Bruce Lewandowski of Baltimore presiding.
Those nine days of the novena were full and we feel confident they were very blessed. We remembered all of you!
