On January 5, 2022, the Feast of St. John Neumann, I visited the shrine's museum in Philadelphia and below is a pictorial look at the shrine and museum. The grand opening of the current St. John Neumann Shrine Museum took place April 30, 2019.
Following his sudden death in 1860, Bishop Neumann was buried underneath the main altar of St. Peter the Apostle Church in what is now the crypt church. His body is still present, encased in glass under the altar of the lower church.
The museum is open Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is open on Sundays, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
