Do we still have hope today? Yes! If we travel around Baton Rouge and beyond, we could see a lot of people living in poverty. People who have no job, no home, no family, no food, no faith and no friend. They live every day with mental illness and addictions, without God. Violence that was abnormal now is normal. Yes, it is sad.
But in the midst of sadness, we still have hope. We hope because there are still witnesses of Christ today walking around the town and seeking the “lost ones” to care for them. Mr. Kenny (above) bought burgers and fed Mr. T. lunch on a recent Sunday. Kenny loves the poor and marginalized. He quietly delivers hundred of boxes of food every week from St. Vincent de Paul to the poor and homeless in the city of Baton Rouge.
He makes friends with them. He knows them by name. And he faithfully delivers a little box of HOPE to the hopeless. Jesus says, “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.”
I have seen quite a few witnesses of Christ right here in our community. Each of us can become a Witness of Christ TODAY.
